Our History

The late William G. Gilmore built Gilmore Steel Corporation in San Francisco, California and Portland, Oregon, and was a philanthropist, sportsman, and civic leader in San Francisco. He built the William G. Gilmore Foundation, a private, independent foundation, which carries on his philanthropy.

Our Vision

The foundation supports academic enrichment for young people; support services for people with disabilities; and food, shelter, counseling, and arts programs. The foundation prioritizes the continued support of effective organizations.
